    Description

Original art by Phil Wilson measuring 28 inches by 38 inches on illustration board. This was the art for the cover of the fourth issue of Questar magazine (see photo of magazine cover in listing). This is a stunning piece even without any light on it. When I first saw it, the guy who sold it to me had it so well lit that I was immediately hooked. Knowing this, he tied the sale in with five other pieces, none of which I wanted and all of which were difficult to sell or trade. As a result, I had all the money in this one piece but I have kept this piece for over twenty years and have never tired of it or regretted buying it. Although I hope to be around for some time, all bets are off once you receive that Medicare card and mine now has five years on it. Should I have to leave this wildly spinning planet unexpectedly, I fear my wife will put all this stuff out at the curb. Well, enough about my anxieties!
The art is in nice shape but has a few minor issues. The illustration board is in great shape with only slight wear at the corner edges. There are a few places that have some small white marks which probably are easy to remove if you know what you're doing. There is also one small spot with some stray black dots (shown in one of the photos).
I have the original magazine somewhere but since it's not 28 by 38 inches in size like the painting, finding it would be an impossible task. This issue featured a Forrest J. Ackerman comic strip "Jeanie."
Phil Wilson has had a noted career in illustration and animation including some remarkable work for Disney.
