Mini QUILT Top: MAINE Series # 10: PINE CONE & Tassel

This is a miniature (mini) quilt top about 12-1/2 inches square, UNtrimmed. I use only quilt shop quality fabrics.
This is the tenth, and
penultimate
top in a series of quilt tops featuring what I love about Maine.
The White Pine Cone and Tassel are Maine’s state flower. Botanically, the white pine cone and tassel are not flowers, they are gymnosperm (producing seeds without flowers) – so you do you, Maine, all the more reason to love you

I used four different browns, for the cone and a pine needle print for the tassel. There’s a spotted background with tans, browns, and greens, and the setting triangles are a pine tree print.

Things to do with miniature quilt tops:
* use your own batting & backing (& your own binding if not included in the auction) and finish it with your own special quilting as an art object to hang on the wall/door/etc.
* also makes a great candle mat, mug mat or table topper when finished
* make a pillow with the quilt top on the front
* use the mini top as a centerpiece in your own larger quilt project
* collect a bunch and sew them together with sashing, etc. to make a unique larger quilt
* if you don't sew you can still display it by matting, framing and hanging it!
