Mini QUILT Top: Coastal DUNES

Description

This is a miniature (mini) quilt top about 10-1/2 inches by 11-1/2 inches. I use only quilt shop quality fabrics.
I made this mini landscape top with fusible web applique – I used HeatnBond lite fusible web which you can stitch through. You need to stitch the edges down on this, using your preferred method. I’m sure I’m telling you something you already know, but I’m new to this technique – I’m more of a design person

. There’s a lot of fused pieces here – it’s pretty stiff. These are sand dunes and an active sea – in the foreground is a dilapidated fence (I’ve never seen a 'lapidated' fence at the beach- they’re always falling

). The sky and the borders are washed-out beachy colors to round out the look .

Things to do with miniature quilt tops:
* use your own batting & backing (& your own binding if not included in the auction) and finish it with your own special quilting as an art object to hang on the wall/door/etc.
* also makes a great candle mat, mug mat or table topper when finished
* make a pillow with the quilt top on the front
* use the mini top as a centerpiece in your own larger quilt project
* collect a bunch and sew them together with sashing, etc. to make a unique larger quilt
* if you don't sew you can still display it by matting, framing and hanging it!
