Mini QUILT Top: Bright CATS

Description

This is a miniature (mini) quilt top about 13-3/4 inches by 16 inches.  I use only quilt shop quality fabrics.
I made this kitty & cat top with
fusible web applique
– I used HeatnBond lite fusible web which you can stitch through. The shapes are
hand drawn and hand cut
. You need to stitch the edges down on this, using your preferred method. I’m sure I’m telling you something you already know, but I’m new to this technique – I’m more of a design person. The bright orange and pink of the kitties was taken from the whimsical Dan Morris border cat print. The background is also a Morris floral print – both from his Sew Catty line. I added two inner borders of purple and turquoise to highlight the other bold colors in the border print.

Things to do with miniature quilt tops:
* use your own batting & backing (& your own binding if not included in the auction) and finish it with your own special quilting as an art object to hang on the wall/door/etc.
* also makes a great candle mat, mug mat or table topper when finished
* make a pillow with the quilt top on the front
* use the mini top as a centerpiece in your own larger quilt project
* collect a bunch and sew them together with sashing, etc. to make a unique larger quilt
* if you don't sew you can still display it by matting, framing and hanging it!
