4 ANTIQUE JAPANESE MINI ITCHIMATSU DOLLS MAMASAN AND CHILDREN IN BOX

Description

We put together this little family of miniature itchimatsu dolls. Mama-san with 3 boys.
They are all in very good condition for their age ...which we estimate to Meiji period
(Ca 1868-1912). All dolls have their arms, hands, legs and feet without chips or marks.
They have crepe silk kimonos (except for the smallest ..only regular thin silk).
Their Gofun and glass eye faces are also in good condition.
The little boy with the hair tuft on top is a specially great doll. Beautiful layered kimonos,
although some moth holes from age. Mama-san is holding a closed parasol. The set also
comes with two small wire flower baskets. Mama-san measures 5 1/2” and the two boys
are 3 1/4” tall. The little one is 2 1/2”.
They are displayed in a kiri wood box with glass cover. The box measures 8 1/4” x 6 1/2” x
2 1/8”.
These were all purchased in Japan in the mid 1980s.
