    Description:
    A nice, rare fine banknote from Egypt. This is the Cairo 3rd June 1918, very elusive 25 piastres banknote issued by the National Bank of Egypt. The banknote is deep purple in color on multi colored background. It depicts the image of a village on the bank of the Nile with people and camels and showing sail boats anchored at the edge of the water. The back shows a colorful design in dark blue on a pale orange and gray background with the wings of Horus on top and the name of the bank as well as the denomination in the center. The front also indicates that the note was issued according to the decree dated 25th June 1898. This particular note has the serial number 060,196 and is from the series L/23, which is displayed twice in black lettering on the front but not on the back. The note has no watermark. It is signed by Fredrick Rowlatt the governor of the National Bank of Egypt at the time. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.
